Introduction

Tremiti Islands are located on the adriatic coast of Italy, about 10 nm off shore, just above the "heel" of the "italian boot": The Gargano.

On the italian coast, one important city and strt of the tour is Vieste.

Along the coast, the typical and fragile chalk cliff, the water at its feet is turbid and not deep at all. 10 nm from the cliff we have meaqsured not more than 13 meters depth.

On the main Island, the Citadel was a convent then a prison for political prisoners and was used again under Mussolini.

The Tremiti Islands do not show these chalk cliffs but rather rocky aspect with very clear water and caves.
